German numerals

Good afternoon! Our topic today is numeral in German. The numeral answers the question “wie viel?” (how much?) and “welche? welcher? welches?” (which? which? which?).     Numbers from 1-12, as in English, you need to learn and remember:     1 – ein, 2 – zwei, 3 – drei, 4 – vier, 5 – fünf, 6 – sechs, 7 – sieben, 8 – acht, 9 – neun, 10 – zehn, 11 – elf, 12 – zwölf;     The numerals of the second dozen, except 11 and 12, are formed by the addition of the particle “zehn”:     13 – dreizehn, 14 – vierzehn, 15 – fünfzehn, 16 – sechzehn, 17 – siebzehn, 18 – achtzehn, 19 – neunzehn.     Dozens are formed using the suffix “-zig” (for dozens):     20 – zwanzig, 30 – dreißig (single exception: “ßig”, not “zig”), 40 – vierzig, 50 – fünfzig, 60 – sechzig, 70 – siebzig, 80 – achtzig, 90 – neunzig.     100 – (ein) hundert and 1000 – (ein) tausend. Numbers from 21 to 99 are formed by simply appending the corresponding numbers using the union “und”. Very unusual and inconvenient for all non-carriers is the fact that in German, units are first indicated, and only then dozens: that is, the number 81 needs to be pronounced and written not as “eighty-one”, but as “one and eighty”). Moreover, everything should be written in one word: 26 – sechsundzwanzig (6 and 20), 73 – dreiundsiebzig (3 and 70). But then everything is easier! From large numbers to smaller numbers: first we call thousands, then hundreds, and then a two-digit number (in which units come first, then tens). 382 – dreihundertzweiundachtzig (drei hundert + zwei und achtzig). Millions are written separately and with a capital letter. 3 746 729 – drei Millionen siebenhundertsechsundvierzigtausendsiebenhundertneunundzwanzig. It looks awesome, agree 🙂 But you should not be afraid, try to write the same word in Russian, and it will come out a bit shorter. And who generally writes numbers in words? But with oral pronunciation will have to practice. For the name of dates there are simplifications. 1991 is neunzehntausend + einundneunzig (nineteen hundred + ninety-one), not eintausend + neunhundert + einundneunzig (as we would say, be it not a date). Try now slowly to pronounce a series of arbitrary numbers:     8     12     45     78     443     834     1,435     83,683     746 246     5,673,567
